American Serena Williams keeps one extra week at the head of the world rankings of women after winning the tournament in Miami, second Masters 1000 of the season, against the Russian Maria Sharapova, his highest form, and hangs on to the number one.

Williams, who accumulates a total of 48 individual titles and 22 doubles, 31-year-old leads the ranking with 11.115 points, followed by Sharapova and the Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, who remains in third position with 9.325 points despite having lost 250 points because of their absence in Miami.

The first variation in classification has occurred within the “top ten” where Australia’s Samantha Stosur outplayed Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki, who is positioned well to the tail of the ten best players in the world.

The instinct for survival of the great prevented Rafael Nadal fell to the canvas in the quarterfinals of the Madrid Open mutual. The tyrant of Earth was able to escape strings that pushed David Ferrer, who was two points to take the match (6-5 and 15-30 in the second set to the rest), but spared. And forgive a killer is to give opportunity to you knocks. This is what happened: 4-6, 7-6 (7/3), 6-0 in 2 h: 36.
